Welcome. I am a board certified psychiatrist practicing in the Carthay Circle neighborhood of Los Angeles, adjacent to West Hollywood, Beverly Hills and Museum Mile.
I see patients ages 16 and older in a comfortable and professional office setting, offering comprehensive psychiatric assessment and treatment. I am trained in both psychotherapy and psychopharmacology and offer a range of approaches to emotional and mental difficulties, including holistic and integrative alternatives. I treat a wide range of problems from depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, substance use and eating disorders to interpersonal, relationship, self-esteem and identity issues. I have expertise with writers, musicians, artists and other creative professionals and the unique problems they face psychologically, interpersonally and professionally. In addition to my private practice I teach residents and students at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA and the New Center for Psychoanalysis. At UCLA I am past-president of the Psychiatric Clinical Faculty Association (PCFA) and founding director of the Psychodynamic Psychotherapy Concentration. I am founding director of the American Psychiatric Association Psychotherapy Caucus Training Advancement Initiative. I lecture regularly on a variety of topics ranging from psychotherapy technique and research to psychiatric injuries in the workplace. I also serve regularly as an expert witness in civil litigation and as an expert evaluator in worker's compensation claims.
